Located in the heart of River North, at 65 West Kinzie Street, DineAmic Hospitality added its first Mexican restaurant, Barrio, to the hospitality group’s culinary roster. A creative take on traditional Mexican fare with pan-Latin and American influences, Barrio is a 6,000-square-foot space with 200 seats indoor and 70 patio seats.

With the kitchen headed byTop Chef alum Chef Katsuji Tanabe, the menu provides a plethora of options from tacos to Chef Tanabe’s famous cornbread where he mimics the recipe his mother used as a child. When it comes to tacos, Barrio does not fall short with traditional tacos and other options such as Grilled Octopus and Forest Mushroom. All of the tacos tortillas are house-made with hand-pressed macienda heirloom corn and created by the Mexican chef.
